Training course held to update civil registry systems in the temporary capital, Aden.

Intensive Training Course on Electronic Registration Launched in Aden

The Civil Status and Civil Registry Authority in Aden, the temporary capital of Yemen, has initiated an intensive training course focused on the importance of electronic registration for vital events, including births, marriages, divorces, and deaths. This initiative receives support from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and aligns with the government’s efforts to modernize civil registry systems and promote digital transformation.

Course Details and Objectives

The two-day course involves 32 employees from the authority’s headquarters and civil registry directors from liberated provinces. The training aims to enhance their theoretical and practical skills in managing vital data electronically. Participants will learn about the legal procedures, required documentation, and technical features of the new system.

Government Support for Modernization

Major General Abdul Majid Al-Amri, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Services, emphasized the ministry’s ongoing support for updating civil status systems. He stated that these efforts align with the government’s commitment to improving the quality of public services. Meanwhile, Major General Sand Jamil, the head of the authority, noted that this course is part of a comprehensive strategy to train personnel and develop institutional capabilities.

Advancing Institutional Work Concepts

Major General Dr. Mohammed Baharoun, the authority’s deputy, highlighted the course’s role in establishing modern institutional work concepts. He believes it will lead to significant improvements in data collection and processing methods. Additionally, Dr. Rania Abdel Ghafoor, the health unit head at UNFPA, expressed her appreciation for the ministry’s efforts, underscoring the importance of accurate data in supporting development and humanitarian responses across various sectors.

This initiative reflects the state’s vision to build a comprehensive electronic system that supports public policies and enhances the professionalism of government performance.
