The Yemeni Ambassador to Canada, Jamal Al-Sallal, participated in the inauguration ceremony of Canada’s 31st Governor General, Mary Simon, held in the capital city of Ottawa. The event attracted high-level officials and dignitaries.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Al-Sallal conveyed greetings and congratulations from President Rashad Mohammed Alimi, the head of the Presidential Leadership Council. He expressed hope for Simon’s success in her new role and emphasized the potential for further development in Yemeni-Canadian relations across various sectors.
In response, Governor General Mary Simon and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney expressed their appreciation for President Alimi. They reaffirmed Canada’s commitment to supporting Yemen and its people in their pursuit of security, stability, peace, and development.
The inauguration ceremony featured the presence of senior Canadian officials, including military and civilian leaders, government members, and parliamentarians. The event also included the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and heads of geographical groups representing accredited diplomatic missions in Canada.
