The Taiz governor discusses the committee’s report on violations at gas filling stations.

Governor of Taiz Discusses Gas Station Compliance Report

In a recent meeting, Taiz Governor Nabil Shamsan reviewed a report from a committee assigned by the Yemeni Gas Company. The report evaluated gas stations in the region, focusing on compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Meeting Overview

The meeting included key figures such as Colonel Anis Al-Shamiri, Deputy Director of Police, and various directors from legal affairs, the gas company, civil defense, and local municipalities. The committee’s report highlighted numerous unlicensed and non-compliant gas stations operating within the city and surrounding districts. Many of these stations lack the necessary permits and fail to adhere to established safety protocols.

Safety Concerns Raised

Governor Shamsan emphasized the alarming incidents of bus and vehicle fires as a critical warning. He called for immediate action to enforce safety measures, including the closure of non-compliant stations and companies converting vehicles to gas without proper safety considerations. This issue is particularly pressing in densely populated areas.

Action Plan Initiated

In response to the findings, Governor Shamsan directed the gas company branch, civil defense, and municipal directors to conduct field inspections. He urged them to implement the committee’s recommendations decisively. The governor stressed the importance of shutting down non-compliant stations and random sales points while coordinating with security agencies to ensure public safety.

The governor’s proactive approach aims to enhance safety standards in Taiz and protect the community from potential hazards associated with gas stations. The focus on compliance and safety reflects a commitment to safeguarding the lives of residents in the region.
