Syrian National Investigation Committee Identifies 298 Individuals Involved in Violence
During a press conference held in Damascus, the Syrian National Investigation Committee announced the identification of 298 individuals linked to violent incidents in the coastal region. The committee confirmed the documentation of 1,426 deaths among the Alawite community during events that occurred on March 7, 8, and 9.
Details of Documented Violations
Committee spokesperson Yasser Al-Farhan stated that the verified violations included “premeditated murder, torture, arson, looting, and sectarian abuse.” He emphasized that most victims were civilians, with 90 women among those affected.
Warning Against External Influences
In a related statement, Syrian Minister of Information Hamza Al-Mustafa warned of external attempts to incite sectarian rhetoric through media and social platforms. He accused four unnamed countries of orchestrating provocative campaigns using over 10,000 fake accounts.
Media Manipulation and National Unity
Al-Mustafa criticized the media frenzy, asserting that it relies on narratives from the “overthrown regime.” He claimed that adversaries of the new Syrian state aim to “create an alternative reality and tear apart the national fabric.” Additionally, he pointed to Israeli intervention as a contributing factor to the recent escalation of the crisis in the Sweida province.
