In a recent address, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, the head of the Presidential Leadership Council and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, praised the bravery of military personnel across various fronts. He highlighted significant victories achieved in the past hours in the regions of Taiz and Al Hudaydah.
President Alimi commended the National Resistance Brigades, the Giants Brigade, and the Tihama Brigade for successfully liberating and securing the district of Hays in Al Hudaydah Governorate. He also acknowledged the efforts of the armed forces in the Hifan front, emphasizing the crucial role of the air force in supporting ground troops and effectively addressing enemy threats across multiple operational theaters.
During communications with military and field leaders, President Alimi received updates on ongoing operations, territorial gains, and combat readiness. He stressed the importance of securing liberated areas and purging remaining sites infiltrated by militia forces. He urged military units to continue their missions with responsibility and skill, maintain the initiative, and enhance coordination among various units in the operational theater.
The President issued a stern warning to the Houthi militias, stating that they would bear full responsibility for their reckless actions. He affirmed that Taiz would not serve as a safe passage for the agendas of their supporters. The armed forces, which have successfully countered their attacks, possess the capability to reclaim all territories and fulfill their constitutional duty to protect citizens and the nation’s vital interests.
President Alimi instructed all military leaders and units to strictly adhere to international humanitarian law and rules of engagement. He emphasized the need to protect civilians and public and private property, facilitate aid access, and treat detainees with dignity and respect. He stated, “The hand that bears arms in defense of the republic must also uphold the rule of law.”
The President paid tribute to the brave souls of the armed forces and all military formations who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. He assured that their sacrifices would remain honored by the state and the people. He directed relevant authorities to provide necessary care and treatment for the wounded and support the families of the fallen, viewing this as a national and moral obligation that cannot be delayed.
President Alimi held the Houthi militias fully accountable for the violations accompanying their criminal escalation, including attacks on residential areas and public roads. He condemned the resulting civilian casualties, kidnappings, and the displacement of hundreds of families. He asserted that these crimes would not go unpunished and that the armed forces would continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of citizens.
The President reiterated his call to all political and social forces, intellectual circles, and media outlets to unite in support of the armed forces. He urged against falling into campaigns of doubt and division that only serve the interests of terrorist militias. He affirmed that the armed forces, having demonstrated their resilience and deterrent capabilities, remain steadfast in their mission to restore state institutions, a commitment that will not waver regardless of the sacrifices involved.
In closing, President Alimi appealed to tribal leaders and those misled in militia-controlled areas to refrain from involving their youth in a conflict that does not align with the interests of Yemenis. He urged those still within the ranks of the militias to return to the right path and avoid sacrificing their lives for leaders who have chosen to align with destructive cross-border agendas.
