Urgent Action Required to Resolve Gas Crisis in Aden

A Call to Action from the Governor

Abdul Rahman Sheikh, the Minister of State and Governor of Aden, has directed the Gas Company, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and district managers to urgently address the ongoing gas crisis. During a meeting held on Sunday, Sheikh emphasized the need for immediate solutions to alleviate the suffering of citizens.

Local Authority’s Stance on Temporary Solutions

In the meeting, which included key figures such as Abdul Aziz Ras from the Gas Facility and Waseem Al-Amri from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Sheikh firmly rejected any piecemeal or temporary solutions. He stated that the local authority seeks comprehensive resolutions that fully resolve the issue.

Identifying Causes and Implementing Solutions

The meeting focused on identifying the root causes of the gas crisis and discussing practical, swift solutions to ensure a stable supply. Sheikh stressed the importance of taking decisive action without delay, insisting that solutions must be thorough and sustainable. This approach aims to ensure consistent supply and distribution across all districts in the governorate.

Commitment to Regular Supply and Distribution

As a result of the discussions, participants agreed on a commitment from the Gas Company to maintain regular supply and distribution. They established a rapid, collaborative framework involving the Gas Facility, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and district managers. This framework will help organize distribution, enhance oversight, and ensure fairness and transparency in the process.

Conclusion

The urgent measures outlined by Governor Sheikh aim to restore stability in gas supply for the residents of Aden. By prioritizing comprehensive solutions, local authorities hope to mitigate the ongoing crisis and improve the quality of life for citizens.
