The Minister of Information stated that the Houthi militia has turned Ramadan into a season of oppression, invading villages and terrorizing civilians.

Houthi Militias Launch Armed Campaigns as Ramadan Begins

Minister of Information Condemns Violence

Minister of Information Muammar Al-Eryani criticized the Houthi militias, backed by the Iranian regime, for initiating Ramadan with a series of armed assaults targeting peaceful villages and homes across several provinces. He described these actions as a clear demonstration of the militia’s oppressive and terror-driven agenda, aimed at instilling fear in civilians and subjugating communities through violence.

Widespread Attacks Across Multiple Provinces

In a recent press statement, Al-Eryani highlighted that these violent incidents have occurred in various regions. The attacks began in the Al-Hafrah neighborhood of Rad’a in Al-Bayda province and extended to Al-Munqata village in Al-Sharijah district. Additional assaults took place in Bani Al-Jalabi isolation in Al-Rujum district of Al-Mahwit province, as well as in Al-Aghwal village in Al-Hada district of Dhamar province, culminating in Bani Hawat in Bani Harith district of Sana’a. The militias conducted armed raids, imposed blockades on villages, executed mass arrests, and terrorized women and children under flimsy pretexts that fail to conceal their criminal behavior against the Yemeni people.

Militia Tactics and Community Impact

Al-Eryani pointed out that these campaigns reveal the militia’s strategy for controlling the areas under their forceful grip. Local disputes often serve as excuses for invading villages, settling scores, imposing extortion, and seizing land and property. This approach solidifies their authority through the barrel of a gun.

He added that such practices demonstrate the militia’s view of Yemeni tribes as mere targets to be subdued and their will broken. This reflects a desperate attempt to reshape society according to their sectarian agenda while silencing any dissent against their policies.

Humanitarian Crisis Amidst Violence

The minister emphasized that these assaults occur against a backdrop of severe humanitarian and living conditions faced by citizens in militia-controlled areas. Millions of families continue to suffer due to the suspension of state employee salaries since the coup, the paralysis of the private sector, soaring prices, and the collapse of purchasing power. Instead of directing state resources to alleviate citizens’ suffering, the militia diverts funds to finance its armed campaigns and bolster its repressive apparatus, imposing additional taxes and levies on already burdened citizens.

Call for National Unity and International Support

Al-Eryani described the ongoing violence as part of a systematic effort to subjugate Yemeni tribes through force, aiming to crush any resistance to the coup. He asserted that Yemen’s history shows that tribes defending their land and dignity will not accept rule by gang mentality. They will continue to fight for their right to live freely and with dignity under a just state.

He urged all Yemenis, across political and social spectrums, to unite against this organized terrorism, reclaim their freedoms and dignity, and rally around the project to restore the state and its institutions, ultimately ending the coup.

Additionally, Al-Eryani called on the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities. He urged support for the resilience of the Yemeni people, advocating for the classification of the Houthi militias as a global terrorist organization. He emphasized the need to cut off their funding and arms supply, pursue their financial networks, and support efforts to restore state institutions and end the coup, ensuring security and stability for Yemenis and alleviating their prolonged suffering.
