Minister of State and Governor of Aden, Abdulrahman Sheikh, convened today to discuss the preparation of the Economic and Social Development and Reconstruction Plan for 2023-2027. The meeting focused on the priorities and needs of the governorate regarding development projects and programs.
The meeting reviewed the most pressing developmental and service needs within the governorate. It highlighted priority areas that require inclusion in the plan. These efforts aim to address existing challenges, improve service levels, and enhance the recovery and reconstruction process.
Governor Abdulrahman Sheikh emphasized the importance of prioritizing projects that directly impact citizens’ lives. He pointed out the need to focus on economically viable projects and sectors that can improve living conditions, create new job opportunities—especially for youth—and stimulate economic and investment activities.
Sheikh stressed that the plan should include strategic projects that help restore Aden’s status as a commercial, economic, and tourist hub. He called for enhancing its position as a port and maritime front, while also revitalizing sectors such as transportation, logistics services, investment, industry, and tourism.
