Minister of State Discusses Collaboration with Engineers’ Syndicate in Aden

A Focus on Engineering and Urban Development

Today, Abdulrahman Sheikh, the Minister of State and Governor of Aden, met with the leadership of the Engineers’ Syndicate in Aden. The discussion centered on enhancing cooperation and coordinating efforts in engineering and urban development within the temporary capital.

During the meeting, Governor Sheikh listened to Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Basri, the head of the syndicate. Al-Basri provided insights into the syndicate’s programs and activities, emphasizing its role in organizing the profession and improving engineering practices. He also highlighted the syndicate’s contributions to development and reconstruction efforts.

Strengthening Local Partnerships

Governor Sheikh reaffirmed the local authority’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with the Engineers’ Syndicate. He stressed the importance of leveraging engineering expertise to support infrastructure projects and urban planning. Furthermore, he emphasized the need to develop a unique architectural identity for Aden that reflects its rich history and distinctive urban character.

Minister of Electricity Reviews Activities of German International University

Commitment to Education and Community Needs

In a separate meeting, Engineer Adnan Al-Kaf, the Minister of Electricity and Energy, along with Governor Sheikh, reviewed the programs and activities of the German International University in Aden. They met with Dr. Abdul-Fattah Al-Saeedi, the university president, to discuss the institution’s contributions to education.

Governor Sheikh expressed the local authority’s dedication to supporting the education sector and enhancing its outputs to meet community and labor market needs. He mentioned plans to implement a comprehensive institutional assessment project that will include both government and private sector institutions, such as schools and universities, to ensure compliance with regulations.

Promoting Academic Excellence

Dr. Al-Saeedi highlighted that since its opening, the university has awarded 120 scholarships to students from various districts in Aden. These scholarships were granted through electronic competitive exams, showcasing the university’s commitment to promoting education and encouraging academic talent.

This collaboration between local authorities and educational institutions aims to foster a skilled workforce that meets the demands of the evolving job market in Aden.
