The Speaker of the Parliament held a meeting and visited the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen.

The leadership of the Yemeni Parliament convened today under the direction of Sheikh Sultan Al-Barakani, along with members Engineer Mohammed Al-Shadadi and Engineer Mohsen Basra.

Review of Agenda and Recent Meetings

During the meeting, the leadership reviewed the agenda and discussed the outcomes of productive meetings with President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, and member of the council, Major General Aidarus Al-Zubaidi.

The leaders addressed the current political, economic, financial, and service challenges facing Yemen. They emphasized the need for urgent measures to tackle these issues and prepare for the resumption of parliamentary sessions. The discussion also highlighted the importance of national unity against the Houthi militia, which has been accused of various abuses, including suppression and violence against intellectuals, journalists, and citizens expressing support for the September 26 Revolution. The leaders expressed concern over the impact of these practices on youth and the attempts to alter cultural identity and destroy the achievements made by Yemenis since the revolution.
