Prime Minister Salim Saleh Bin Brek Welcomes French Ambassador to Yemen

On Sunday, Prime Minister Salim Saleh Bin Brek received Catherine Grameau, the French Ambassador to Yemen. During the meeting, Grameau extended her congratulations on Bin Brek’s appointment as head of the government. She expressed France’s eagerness to collaborate with Yemen to advance the interests of its people.

Strengthening Bilateral Relations

The discussion focused on the bilateral relations between Yemen and France, addressing recent developments in local, regional, and international contexts. Key topics included economic, service, and humanitarian challenges facing Yemen, as well as the government’s priorities in tackling these issues. The conversation also highlighted the necessary French and international support to bolster the government’s efforts in overcoming these challenges and implementing an economic recovery plan.

Government’s Commitment to Economic Stability

Prime Minister Bin Brek emphasized the Yemeni government’s confidence in the support of allies and friends. He reiterated the urgency of addressing the government’s immediate priorities, particularly in economic and service sectors. "Our main goal is to alleviate the suffering of citizens and navigate through this critical phase," he stated. He underscored the importance of improving basic services and stabilizing the national currency.

The Prime Minister noted that while the government is making significant efforts, it requires increased international support and intensified coordination with partners. This collaboration is essential for overcoming current challenges and achieving economic and social stability, especially in liberated areas.

She reiterated France’s commitment to backing the Yemeni government both bilaterally and within the framework of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, as well as in international forums.

This meeting marks a significant step in reinforcing the partnership between Yemen and France, aiming to address pressing challenges and foster a brighter future for the Yemeni people.
