Prime Minister Highlights Strong Yemen-Egypt Relations

In a recent meeting, Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak praised the strong brotherly ties between Yemen and Egypt. He emphasized the enduring cooperation and shared destiny that bind the two nations. The Prime Minister expressed a commitment to further develop these relationships across various sectors.

Farewell Meeting with the Egyptian Ambassador

The Prime Minister met with Ahmed Farouk, the outgoing Ambassador of Egypt, on Tuesday to bid farewell as he concludes his term. During the meeting, Dr. bin Mubarak acknowledged the ambassador’s efforts in strengthening the bilateral relations between Yemen and Egypt. He highlighted the importance of continuing to enhance strategic partnerships to achieve mutual goals and interests. The Prime Minister wished the ambassador success in his future endeavors.

Discussion of Regional and International Developments

The meeting also covered recent national, regional, and international developments. Both leaders discussed their countries’ positions on issues of mutual concern, particularly the recent escalation of terrorist activities by the Houthi militia in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb Strait. They expressed concerns over the ongoing targeting of commercial vessels and international navigation.

Strengthening the Yemeni-Egyptian High Committee

Additionally, the Prime Minister and the ambassador discussed the importance of convening the Yemeni-Egyptian High Committee. They agreed on the need to activate its functions to strengthen cooperation and partnerships across various fields.

Egypt’s Continued Support for Yemen

In response, Ambassador Farouk reaffirmed Egypt’s support for Yemen’s security and stability. He commended the Yemeni government’s efforts to address ongoing challenges. The ambassador noted the shared commitment to enhance bilateral relations, benefiting both countries and their peoples.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on the importance of ongoing collaboration between Yemen and Egypt. Executive Director of the Emergency Response Unit, Jamal bin Ghanem, also attended the meeting, underscoring the collaborative spirit shared between the two nations.
