On Wednesday, Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak convened a crucial meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Interior and police directors from the liberated provinces. The meeting aimed to discuss the current security situation and explore ways to improve the performance of security agencies. The ultimate goal is to reduce crime, combat terrorism, and enhance overall stability.

Strengthening Coordination Among Security Agencies

The discussions centered on improving coordination among various security bodies. Officials emphasized the need to develop tools for counter-terrorism and tackle organized crime effectively. They also addressed issues related to smuggling and economic crimes, including currency speculation and the illegal trafficking of foreign currencies. The meeting highlighted the importance of equipping security agencies to meet both domestic and international challenges.

Government Support for Security Forces

At the beginning of the meeting, Prime Minister bin Mubarak conveyed greetings from President of the Presidential Leadership Council and expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Ministry of Interior and its personnel. He acknowledged the challenges they face in maintaining security and stability under difficult conditions. The Prime Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to improving these circumstances and prioritizing support for security forces.

Healthcare for Injured Security Personnel

The Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Public Health and Population to ensure that security personnel injured in the line of duty receive state-funded medical treatment. He also emphasized the importance of caring for the families of fallen security personnel.

The Role of Security in Government Priorities

Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak underscored the critical role of security institutions in achieving the government’s five main priorities. He stated that discussions about resource development and reforms would be incomplete without the active involvement of security agencies. He stressed the need for these institutions to responsibly implement judicial orders to uphold the rule of law.

Reforms in Security Sectors

The Prime Minister highlighted the necessity of implementing reforms within security sectors. These reforms should align with accountability, transparency, and human rights principles.
