Urgent Budget Allocation for 22 May Surgical Hospital in Aden

Prime Minister Directs Immediate Action

Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Breik has ordered an urgent budget allocation to reactivate the 22 May Surgical Hospital in the Al-Mansoura district of Aden, Yemen. This decision comes as part of the government’s commitment to enhance healthcare services in the temporary capital.

Emergency Budget for Three Months

During a meeting on Monday with Dr. Nasser Harhara, the hospital director, the Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Finance to approve an emergency budget for the next three months. This funding aims to facilitate the hospital’s immediate reopening and ensure it can provide essential services to the community. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of securing necessary resources to enable the hospital to fulfill its role in delivering adequate healthcare.

Addressing Challenges in Healthcare Services

The Prime Minister listened to Dr. Harhara’s insights regarding the challenges and obstacles that have hindered the hospital’s operations. These issues have led to a suspension of health services for citizens. Dr. Harhara also presented proposals for addressing these challenges. The Prime Minister acknowledged the hospital’s vital role in offering specialized surgical procedures to low-income citizens who cannot afford high medical costs.

Key Attendees at the Meeting

The meeting included Dr. Ali Atbush, Director of the Prime Minister’s Office, and Hani Wahab, Deputy Minister of Finance. Their presence underscored the government’s commitment to revitalizing healthcare services in the region.

This initiative reflects the government’s dedication to improving public health infrastructure and ensuring that all citizens have access to necessary medical care.
