Prime Minister Announces $90 Million Aid

On Thursday, Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Brek announced that Saudi Arabia will provide urgent financial support to Yemen. The Kingdom will enhance the Central Bank of Yemen with $90 million, designated for paying salaries of state employees in both the civil and military sectors for the past two months. This initiative reflects Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to assist the Yemeni government in fulfilling its obligations to its citizens.

Support for Economic Stability

In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the Prime Minister emphasized that this support extends Saudi Arabia’s sincere brotherly stance towards Yemen. He highlighted the Kingdom’s continuous efforts to alleviate the humanitarian and living conditions of the Yemeni people. Furthermore, he noted that this aid aims to stabilize the economic and financial situation in Yemen, ensuring timely salary payments as a top priority for the government.

Immediate Action for Salary Distribution

The Prime Minister confirmed that the Yemeni government, in full coordination with the Central Bank, will immediately implement necessary measures to ensure the swift distribution of salaries to eligible civil and military employees. This process will follow transparent and responsible mechanisms, reinforcing trust in the country’s financial institutions.

Acknowledgment of Saudi Leadership

The Prime Minister praised Saudi Arabia’s leadership, particularly King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, for their pivotal role in supporting constitutional legitimacy. He noted that this assistance reflects the deep brotherly ties and shared destiny between the two nations.

Commitment to Economic Reforms

Additionally, the Prime Minister stated that the Yemeni government continues to execute economic and financial reform programs. Efforts focus on enhancing the efficiency of public resource management and collaborating with international partners to improve the economic situation and restore monetary stability.

This financial support from Saudi Arabia marks a significant step in addressing Yemen’s pressing economic challenges and underscores the importance of international cooperation in humanitarian efforts.
