Presidential Leadership Council Holds Meeting to Address National Issues

On Tuesday, the Presidential Leadership Council convened under the leadership of President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi. The meeting included key members such as Aidarus Al-Zubaidi, Sultan Al-Aradah, Abdulrahman Al-Mahrimi, Dr. Abdullah Alimi, Othman Majali, and Faraj Al-Bahssani, with Council member Tariq Saleh participating via video conference.

Discussion on National Conditions and Humanitarian Efforts

The council, joined by Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, focused on the latest developments in the country. They reviewed the government’s efforts to secure essential services and alleviate the humanitarian crises caused by the Iran-backed Houthi militia.

Prime Minister bin Mubarak presented a report detailing economic and institutional performance indicators from the past period. He outlined the progress of comprehensive reforms and the necessary actions to strengthen the government’s role in addressing current challenges. The discussion emphasized the importance of enhancing government performance at both central and local levels.

Directives for State Institutions and Economic Measures

In this context, the Presidential Leadership Council reiterated its commitment to resume the operations of all state institutions from the temporary capital of Aden and the liberated provinces. The council called for immediate action to address economic and service-related issues, enhance anti-corruption efforts, improve public revenues, and reduce expenditures. They also urged adherence to recommendations from supporting bodies and regional and international partners.

Humanitarian Assistance and Support for Victims

The council urged the government to intensify its efforts in facilitating humanitarian interventions. They emphasized the need to expedite the movement of relief workers and enable their access to local communities. Additionally, the council called for the swift reformation of the Supreme Relief Committee and the establishment of a national body to care for the wounded and the families of martyrs.

Strengthening Anti-Corruption Measures

The council reiterated the importance of completing procedures to bolster anti-corruption mechanisms. This includes restructuring the Central Organization for Control and Auditing and forming the Supreme Committee for Tenders and Auctions, as well as the High Authority for Oversight on Tenders and Auctions, in accordance with existing laws and regulations.

Military Readiness and Security Updates

The council also reviewed a report from Defense Minister Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Daari and Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Sagheer Bin Aziz. They discussed the military situation and the readiness of forces across various fronts. The council commended the high vigilance displayed by the armed forces and all military formations in their firm response to the aggressions of the Iran-aligned Houthi militia.

This meeting reflects the council’s ongoing commitment to addressing the pressing challenges facing the nation while promoting stability and security.
