Presidential Leadership Council Continues Discussions on National Developments

On Thursday, the Presidential Leadership Council convened under the leadership of President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi. Key members, including Sultan Al-Aradah, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah Alimi, and Othman Majli, attended the meeting.

Addressing Current National Issues

The council discussed the latest developments in the country, focusing on necessary decisions and changes to enhance government performance. They reviewed recent events and the outcomes of actions taken to normalize conditions, strengthen stability, and unify security and military decisions in liberated provinces.

Commitment to Southern Provinces

During the meeting, the council reaffirmed its understanding of the legitimate demands from the southern provinces. They emphasized that addressing these issues fairly and comprehensively remains a national priority. This approach aligns with agreed-upon references, ensuring genuine partnership and honoring the sacrifices and struggles of the people in various phases.

Seizing Political Opportunities

The council highlighted the importance of capitalizing on the ongoing political process, supported by Saudi Arabia. They view Saudi Arabia as a key guarantor for any comprehensive settlement, which will bolster unity and prevent the country from descending into new cycles of violence. This effort aims to establish a promising era of national partnership and sustainable development.

Acknowledgment of Saudi Support

The council praised the historical and brotherly role of Saudi Arabia, led by King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. They appreciated the continuous political, economic, and humanitarian support for Yemen and its people. Recently, Saudi Arabia announced an urgent financial support package of $90 million to strengthen the Central Bank of Yemen. This funding aims to ensure timely salary payments for civil and military employees and alleviate the living burdens on citizens.

Reports on Normalization Efforts

The council listened to government and security reports regarding actions taken to normalize conditions and establish state authority. They discussed efforts to unify military and security institutions, which will enhance citizen trust and maintain public peace. The council emphasized that the state is committed to fulfilling its responsibilities and obligations to the citizens.

A New Era of Stability

The Presidential Leadership Council asserted that the upcoming phase presents a genuine opportunity for stability and improvement in essential services, including electricity, water, health, and education. They called on all Yemeni citizens to rally around the state project and look toward the future with a spirit of partnership and national responsibility.

Changes in Leadership

During the meeting, the council addressed the resignation of Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Brek and approved it. They also appointed a new Prime Minister and tasked him with forming a new government.
