Yemeni President Welcomes Turkish Ambassador to Strengthen Bilateral Relations

On Tuesday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, welcomed Mustafa Bulat, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, at the Maasheq Palace. This meeting aimed to discuss the historical ties between Yemen and Turkey, as well as the current situation in Yemen and mutual interests.

Strengthening Historical Ties

During the meeting, President Alimi praised the longstanding relationship between Yemen and Turkey. He expressed a desire for broader cooperation that would benefit both nations. The President emphasized the importance of enhancing diplomatic and economic ties to support regional stability.

Support for Yemen’s Legitimacy

President Alimi also acknowledged Turkey’s supportive stance regarding Yemen’s constitutional legitimacy. He highlighted Turkey’s efforts to assist in restoring state institutions and its humanitarian initiatives aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people. This support plays a vital role in addressing the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Yemen.

Gratitude for Turkish Hospitality

The President expressed gratitude on behalf of the Yemeni government and people for the facilities provided to the Yemeni community in Turkey. He specifically mentioned the hospitality extended to thousands of Yemenis seeking refuge from the violence perpetrated by Iranian-backed Houthi militias.

The meeting included Dr. Shaif Al-Zandani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, and Saleh Al-Maqalih, the Director of the Presidential Leadership Council’s Office. Their presence underscored the importance of this diplomatic engagement.
