President Alimi Affirms Full Support for National Human Rights Committee

Commitment to Human Rights Protection

President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, reaffirmed the state’s complete support for the National Committee for Investigating Allegations of Human Rights Violations. He emphasized the political leadership’s commitment to safeguarding public rights and freedoms during a meeting on Thursday with the committee’s leadership, headed by Judge Ahmed Saeed Al-Maflahi.

Independence and Legal Mandate

During the meeting, President Alimi stressed the committee’s independence and its legal jurisdiction as outlined in its founding resolution and international standards. He assured the provision of necessary facilities and protections to enable the committee to perform its duties effectively.

Recent Activities and Achievements

The President listened to a brief overview from the committee’s chairman and secretary-general regarding their recent activities. They highlighted efforts to monitor and document human rights violations committed by all parties and their ongoing work to reduce instances of impunity.
