Hamburg, Germany – Dr. Afrah Al-Zuba, Yemen’s Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, engaged in discussions with representatives from various international organizations during the 2026 Hamburg Sustainability Conference. The focus of these discussions centered on enhancing cooperation and coordination to improve the efficiency of developmental and humanitarian projects in Yemen.
The meeting, attended by Yemen’s Ambassador to Germany, Louay Al-Iryani, included representatives from organizations such as Vision Hope, CARE, Save the Children, and Oxfam. Participants addressed the significant challenges hindering project implementation and explored strategies to overcome these obstacles. They emphasized the importance of knowledge exchange and experience sharing between the Yemeni government and international organizations to ensure sustainable developmental impact.
Minister Al-Zuba highlighted the critical role of strategic partnerships between the government and international organizations in supporting development and recovery efforts. She stressed the need for realistic assessments to measure project impacts and to leverage lessons learned for future program design. Representatives from the organizations reaffirmed their commitment to continue supporting development in Yemen and to enhance collaborative efforts to effectively serve targeted communities.
