The Ministry of Health signs an agreement with the Saudi Program to support the healthcare sector.

Saudi Arabia and Yemen Sign Health Cooperation Agreement

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – The Ministry of Public Health and Population of Yemen signed a cooperation agreement today with the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen. This agreement aims to enhance the ministry’s capacity to support and operate health facilities across Yemen.

Establishing a Sustainable Health Support Fund

The agreement outlines a collaborative effort to create a specialized fund dedicated to the operation of health facilities in Yemen. This fund will operate under sustainable financing mechanisms and will involve partnerships with both the public and private sectors, as well as regional and international organizations. The initiative aims to stabilize the healthcare system and improve basic healthcare services for citizens in various provinces.

Commitment to Improving Healthcare Quality

Minister Dr. Qassem Baheebah signed the agreement on behalf of the Yemeni ministry, while Ambassador Mohammed Al-Jaber, the program’s supervisor, represented the Saudi program. This agreement reflects Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to support the health sector in Yemen and enhance the quality of healthcare services available to its citizens.

A Foundation for Sustainable Health Services

Minister Baheebah emphasized that this agreement serves as a fundamental step toward ensuring the sustainability of quality health services in Yemen. He highlighted the importance of maintaining health facilities and delivering essential services to the Yemeni people. The minister praised the contributions of the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, noting its role in enhancing the capabilities of the health sector through various developmental projects and initiatives. These efforts aim to achieve sustainable development and improve the quality of life for the Yemeni population while elevating the standard of medical care provided.

This agreement marks a significant milestone in the collaborative efforts between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, focusing on strengthening healthcare infrastructure and ensuring better health outcomes for all Yemenis.
