The Ministry of Awqaf and Guidance has officially declared that Thursday will mark the completion of Ramadan. This announcement follows the failure to sight the Shawwal crescent moon. Consequently, Friday will be the first day of Eid al-Fitr.
In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the ministry explained that the committee responsible for moon sighting, which includes astronomers, judges, and scholars, could not observe the crescent moon this evening. Therefore, Thursday, March 19, 2026, will complete the month of Ramadan.
On this significant religious occasion, the Ministry of Awqaf and Guidance extended heartfelt congratulations to the Yemeni people, both domestically and abroad. The ministry also conveyed its best wishes to the political leadership, represented by the President of the Presidential Leadership Council and its members. Additionally, they recognized the bravery of the armed forces, security personnel, and the valiant resistance fighters in their honorable positions. The ministry also acknowledged the efforts of all employees in the legislative, judicial, and executive authorities.
This announcement sets the stage for a joyous celebration as families prepare to observe Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of a month of fasting and reflection.
