Today, Minister of Public Works and Roads, Engineer Hussein Al-Aqabi, engaged in discussions with German Ambassador to Yemen, Thomas Schneider, to explore avenues for strengthening cooperation between Yemen and Germany in the vital sectors of roads and infrastructure. The meeting included the participation of Deputy Minister Dr. Mohammed Thabet and Deputy Ambassador Sofia Hertzberg.
During the meeting, both Minister Al-Aqabi and Ambassador Schneider underscored the significant challenges currently facing Yemen’s public works sector. They highlighted the urgent need for the development of road networks and the enhancement of infrastructure, which are essential for fostering economic growth and facilitating transportation across the nation.
Minister Al-Aqabi reaffirmed the Yemeni government’s commitment to expanding its partnership with Germany. He expressed a strong desire to leverage modern expertise and advanced technologies in the execution of infrastructure projects. The Minister acknowledged Germany’s supportive role in Yemen’s ongoing development efforts.
In response, Ambassador Schneider conveyed Germany’s readiness to bolster its partnership with the Ministry of Public Works and Roads. He emphasized the importance of supporting key projects that enhance essential services in Yemen. Schneider also pointed out the necessity of ongoing coordination to achieve tangible results on the ground.
