Today, Dr. Waed Badhieb, Yemen’s Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, met with Badr Al-Saad, Chairman of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development. This meeting took place during the 54th Annual Meeting of the Fund’s Board of Governors, held in Kuwait.
During their discussion, both parties focused on enhancing cooperation between the Yemeni government and the Arab Fund. They addressed Yemen’s current debt situation with the Fund and explored various scenarios for financial settlement. The conversation also included plans for comprehensive debt restructuring aimed at reducing interest rates, contingent upon the Yemeni government’s readiness.
The meeting underscored the Fund’s commitment to support Yemen. Al-Saad expressed the Fund’s readiness to assist the Yemeni government in implementing its development plans. They identified key sectors and future projects that require attention, ensuring continued aid to Yemen.
Dr. Badhieb conveyed the Yemeni government’s gratitude to the Arab Fund for its ongoing partnership and support. He emphasized the importance of the developmental cooperation between the two entities, highlighting its role in addressing Yemen’s pressing needs.
