Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Inspects Telecommunications Sector

On Sunday, Dr. Waed Badhieb, the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation and Acting Minister of Communications and Information Technology, conducted an inspection of several key telecommunications institutions in Aden, Yemen. He visited the General Telecommunications Corporation, the Aden Net Development and Improvement Company, and the Yemeni International Telecommunications Company, TeleYemen.

Assessing Performance and Future Goals

During his visit, Minister Badhieb reviewed the performance levels of these organizations. He emphasized the need for increased efforts to enhance telecommunications services and meet public demands. Badhieb highlighted recent advancements in the sector, particularly the signing of several agreements. These agreements will establish a legal framework for regulating data exchange through satellite stations.

Expansion Project to Improve Internet Quality

In addition, Minister Badhieb examined the progress of the second phase of the service expansion project. This initiative aims to improve internet quality and broaden coverage across the region.

Updates from Aden Net Management

The Minister received a briefing from Mansour Al-Walidi, General Manager of Aden Net. Al-Walidi outlined the achievements to date, including ongoing work to install new stations and increase network capacity in targeted provinces. He also discussed the main challenges facing the project and proposed solutions to address them.

Commitment to Timely Project Completion

Minister Badhieb commended the company’s management and technical team for their dedication to executing the project according to the established timeline. He stressed the importance of completing the project on schedule to enhance communication quality, ultimately fulfilling citizens’ expectations.

This inspection underscores the government’s commitment to advancing the telecommunications sector in Yemen, which plays a crucial role in connecting communities and supporting economic development.
