In a significant meeting held today in Riyadh, Dr. Waed Abdullah Badhib, Yemen’s Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, engaged with Mohammed Al Jaber, the Saudi Ambassador to Yemen and General Supervisor of the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction in Yemen. The discussion focused on various development projects and interventions currently being implemented by the program.
The meeting highlighted the political and moral support that Saudi Arabia extends to Yemen on international platforms. Specifically, they reviewed the outcomes of the donor ministerial meeting that took place last January and discussed the mechanisms for implementing its results. This collaboration aims to enhance Yemen’s development landscape and ensure effective resource allocation.
During the discussions, both officials addressed the challenges hindering the execution of development projects aimed at improving the lives of Yemeni citizens. Minister Badhib praised Saudi Arabia’s leading role as Yemen’s primary supporter, acknowledging the substantial efforts made by the Saudi program across various provinces and sectors. This recognition underscores the importance of international partnerships in fostering sustainable development.
In response, Ambassador Al Jaber reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to ensuring the success of all developmental initiatives. He emphasized the program’s dedication to delivering Saudi support to those who need it most, thereby reinforcing the bilateral relationship between the two nations.
In a separate meeting, Minister Badhib discussed the final stages of the Development Coordination Platform in Yemen with Engineer Hassan Al Attas, the Assistant Supervisor General of the Saudi Program, and the specialized technical team. They reviewed the final details of the platform, which has been developed in partnership with the Islamic Development Bank. The launch of this platform is anticipated in the near future, promising to enhance coordination among various development efforts in Yemen.
This collaborative approach aims to streamline development initiatives and ensure that resources are utilized effectively to benefit the Yemeni population.
