In a recent meeting held in the temporary capital of Aden, Minister of Local Administration Hussein Al-Aghbari engaged with the Secretary-General of the Local Council for Al-Mahra Province, Salem Nimer. The discussion focused on the province’s current situation and its urgent service and development project needs.

Minister Al-Aghbari emphasized the government’s dedication to supporting local authorities. He stated that this support aims to enhance administrative and technical performance, thereby promoting local development in accordance with the Local Authority Law and its executive regulations.

During the meeting, Al-Aghbari praised the leadership of Al-Mahra’s local authority, headed by Governor Mohammed Ali Yasser. He highlighted their effective management of the province, which serves as Yemen’s eastern gateway. The minister stressed the importance of coordination among various agencies to mitigate the impacts of natural disasters. He specifically mentioned the recent challenges faced by the district of Haswain due to Cyclone “Tej.” Al-Aghbari called for the activation of emergency committees and early warning systems to prevent and reduce risks.
