Justice Minister Emphasizes Government-Civil Society Partnership to Enhance Women's Rights

Strengthening Legal Protections for Women

Minister of Justice, Judge Badr Al-Aradah, highlighted the crucial role of collaboration between the government and civil society in promoting women’s legal rights. During a meeting in Aden, the temporary capital, he engaged with a delegation of civil society activists and leaders from the Yemeni Women’s Union.

Commitment to Women’s Rights Initiatives

Judge Al-Aradah reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to fostering partnerships through various programs and initiatives. These efforts aim to raise awareness about women’s rights and ensure they receive adequate legal protection.

Addressing Key Issues Affecting Women

The meeting also focused on the outcomes of the sixth Women’s Summit and addressed pressing issues of mutual concern. Topics included judicial assistance for women, the conditions of female prisoners, and the ministry’s role in facilitating access to legal aid programs. The discussions aimed to identify measures to combat various negative phenomena affecting women’s rights.

Educational Workshops to Promote Legal Awareness

In line with these discussions, participants agreed to organize a series of awareness workshops in collaboration with the Ministries of Information and Endowments. These workshops will aim to educate the public on the importance of women’s roles in society and to challenge and change misconceptions surrounding women’s rights.

Through these initiatives, the Ministry of Justice seeks to create a more supportive environment for women, ensuring they can access their rights and legal protections effectively.
