The Minister of Information stated that the murders of relatives in Ibb and Sana’a are a direct result of extremist Houthi propaganda and summer camps creating a violent generation.

Alarming Rise in Familial Violence in Yemen

Recent Tragedies in Ibb and Sana’a

Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism Moammar Al-Eryani reported two horrific incidents in the provinces of Ibb and Sana’a within a span of 24 hours. These tragedies resulted in the deaths of ten civilians, including parents and children, who were brutally killed by their own relatives. Al-Eryani described these scenes as tragic reflections of the deteriorating conditions in areas controlled by the Iran-backed Houthi militia.

Escalating Domestic Violence

Al-Eryani emphasized that these shocking familial crimes indicate a troubling rise in the phenomenon of relative-on-relative violence and domestic abuse within Houthi-controlled territories. He attributed this increase to unprecedented declines in living conditions, social stability, and mental health, compounded by rampant gun proliferation and systematic security breakdowns.

The Role of Extremist Indoctrination

The minister pointed out that these crimes stem directly from the extreme sectarian mobilization and systematic incitement practiced by the Houthis for years. He criticized the so-called “cultural courses” and “summer centers,” which have transformed into recruitment camps for indoctrinating youth with violent and extremist ideologies, fostering blind loyalty to Iran.

Misleading Educational Initiatives

Al-Eryani clarified that these “summer centers” do not serve educational or developmental purposes, as the Houthis claim. Instead, they function as systematic tools for producing a radical generation that justifies violence and murder, even within families. He described these centers as factories for creating ticking time bombs that could explode within their own households.

Threat to Social Fabric

The minister warned of the grave implications of this Houthi sectarian project on Yemen’s social fabric and family cohesion. He asserted that every child or young person subjected to brainwashing in these “cultural courses” poses a potential threat. Every household in Houthi-controlled areas remains at risk of internal conflict at any moment.

Accountability for Rising Crimes

Al-Eryani held the Houthi militia fully responsible for the spread of these crimes and the moral and social collapse within society. He attributed this decline to the militia’s destructive policies and ongoing promotion of a culture of death and hatred in the name of religion.

Call for Urgent Action

In conclusion, Al-Eryani called for immediate national and international action to expose this destructive sectarian project. He urged efforts to protect children and youth from falling prey to the Houthi death machine.

This article highlights the urgent need for awareness and action regarding the rising violence in Yemen, particularly within families, as a result of extremist ideologies.
