Minister of Information Meets Journalists in Al-Mahra

On Saturday, Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Muammar Al-Eryani, engaged with several journalists and reporters from various television channels in Al-Mahra Governorate. The meeting aimed to strengthen the relationship between the government and the media while addressing the challenges facing the region.

Presidential Greetings and Support for the Media

During the meeting, Al-Eryani conveyed greetings from President Dr. Rashad Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, and Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad Bin Mubarak. He emphasized their unwavering support for media professionals, who play a crucial role in the fight to restore state authority and counter the ongoing insurgency.

Addressing Media Challenges

Al-Eryani expressed his pleasure in meeting with journalists to discuss the obstacles they encounter in their work. He encouraged an open dialogue to identify suitable solutions tailored to the available resources. The minister underscored the importance of collaboration among media workers to overcome these challenges effectively.

Preserving Achievements in Al-Mahra

The minister urged media personnel to protect the achievements made in Al-Mahra under the leadership of Governor Muhammad Bin Ali Yasser. He praised the local authority’s relentless efforts to establish security, stability, and essential services for citizens amid the current difficult circumstances facing the country.

Unifying Efforts for Development and Stability

Al-Eryani called on various media outlets and journalists to unify their efforts and encourage citizens to rally around the political leadership represented by the Presidential Leadership Council and the local authority. He stressed that this unity would significantly contribute to the region’s development and stability.

Highlighting Al-Mahra’s Unique Heritage

The minister emphasized the media’s role in showcasing Al-Mahra’s unique heritage, history, and language. He urged journalists to highlight the region’s abundant resources, which position it as a focal point for interest and investment.

Reviving the Khareef Hauf Festival

Al-Eryani announced plans to revive the Khareef Hauf Festival to stimulate tourism in Al-Mahra and benefit various economic sectors. He referenced the success of the recent Al-Mukalla Season, which positively impacted several vital economic sectors and improved citizens’ incomes.

Acknowledging Saudi Support

The minister expressed gratitude for the generous support from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, highlighting its contributions to the Yemeni government and people. He specifically mentioned the projects executed by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center and the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen in developmental and humanitarian fields.

Al-Eryani also noted his recent visit to the King Salman Educational and Medical City project in Al-Ghaydah, expected to be completed by April 2025. This project represents a significant advancement in Yemen’s health and education sectors, enhancing the quality of medical services for the people of Al-Mahra and all Yemenis.

Journalists Share Their Challenges

In response, journalists presented the challenges they face and discussed how the ministry could help alleviate these issues. They also expressed their aspirations to elevate media work in serving national issues, raising public awareness, and addressing citizens’ concerns and aspirations.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to fostering a robust media environment that supports the ongoing efforts for stability and development in Al-Mahra.
