Minister of Industry and Trade Dr. Mohammed Al-Ashwal highlighted the importance of enhancing connections between the Yemeni private sector and its counterparts in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. He stressed the need to open new avenues for partnerships and joint investments that serve mutual economic interests.
This statement came during his visit to the “Made in Gulf” 2026 exhibition and forum, held in the Bahraini capital, Manama. The event coincided with the twelfth meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Standardization Affairs. Dr. Al-Ashwal explored the latest industrial products, technologies, and innovations showcased at the event, which aims to boost partnerships and industrial and economic integration in the region.
Dr. Al-Ashwal toured the exhibition, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain from October 6 to 8 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Center. He listened to explanations about the displayed industries, products, and technologies, emphasizing their role in developing value and supply chains. He noted that these advancements enhance the competitiveness of the industrial sector and expand investment and trade opportunities. The exhibition’s industrial models and advanced technologies reflect the rapid development of the Gulf industrial sector.
The minister underscored the significance of the “Made in Gulf” exhibition and forum as an economic and industrial platform that brings together decision-makers, industry leaders, investors, and experts. This event facilitates the exchange of experiences, exploration of investment opportunities, and partnership building, supporting economic diversification and sustainable development. It also enhances the presence of Gulf industries in regional and international markets.
Dr. Al-Ashwal pointed out the importance of leveraging advanced Gulf industrial and investment experiences. He called for expanding cooperation and partnership with Yemen, particularly in promising industrial sectors, knowledge transfer, and modern technologies. He encouraged quality investments that contribute to the development of the industrial sector, create job opportunities, and strengthen its capacity to contribute to economic recovery and growth.
The visit included the participation of Engineer Hadeed Al-Mas, Director General of the Yemeni Standards, Metrology, and Quality Control Authority.
