Governor of Taiz Inspects Markets Amid Ongoing Blockade

On Tuesday, Governor Nabil Shamsan visited several retail shops and wholesalers in the city of Taiz. His aim was to assess the availability of food supplies and essential goods, as well as the stability of buying and selling activities. This visit comes in light of the exceptional circumstances and the blockade imposed by Houthi militias on the city.

During the field visit, Governor Shamsan, accompanied by the Deputy Governor for Services, Engineer Rashad Al-Akhali, and the Director of the Industry and Trade Office, Abdul Rahman Al-Qala’a, listened to traders’ explanations regarding the availability of food items and essential goods. He emphasized that local authorities continuously monitor the supply situation and coordinate with relevant agencies and the commercial sector to maintain market stability and ensure citizens’ needs are met.

Shamsan stressed the importance of maintaining normal commercial activity and ensuring the availability of basic needs for citizens. He highlighted the necessity of cooperation and coordination among various entities and the commercial sector.

In a related context, Governor Shamsan visited the headquarters of the Taiz Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where he held a meeting with its leadership. Shamsan affirmed the importance of the partnership between local authorities, the Chamber of Commerce, and the private sector.
