In a significant meeting held today in the temporary capital of Aden, Minister of Industry and Trade, Mohammed Al-Ashwal, engaged with Yahya Aju, the coordinator of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA). The discussions focused on enhancing coordination and collaboration between the two parties, particularly regarding future projects.
During the meeting, which included the presence of Mohammed Al-Humaidi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry for Foreign Trade, participants explored ways to bolster joint cooperation. They emphasized the importance of developmental projects that TIKA could implement in Yemen. These initiatives aim to support the local economy and promote sustainable development across the country.
The conversation also highlighted the need to support entrepreneurs by developing and rehabilitating their small and medium-sized enterprises. This approach seeks to create job opportunities for youth and establish training programs that enhance their skills and capabilities in various fields.
Minister Al-Ashwal underscored the critical nature of collaboration with TIKA, especially given the challenging circumstances facing the country. He noted that joint projects would significantly improve living standards and create job opportunities for the population.
In response, the Turkish official explained that TIKA is currently working on identifying projects in collaboration with various ministries. These projects will be submitted to the agency’s headquarters in Turkey for review and decision-making. He affirmed that TIKA is dedicated to implementing initiatives that address the concerns and hardships of citizens while supporting the local economy in Yemen.
This meeting marks a crucial step towards fostering international cooperation aimed at economic recovery and development in Yemen.
