Jeddah Meeting Focuses on Enhancing Yemen’s Tourism Sector

Today, in Jeddah, Minister of Culture and Tourism, Engineer Mutee Dhamaj, met with Dr. Bandar bin Fahd Al-Fahid, President of the Arab Tourism Organization. The two leaders explored avenues for mutual cooperation aimed at supporting and developing Yemen’s tourism sector.

Leveraging Expertise for Infrastructure Development

During the meeting, they discussed how to utilize the organization’s expertise to improve the infrastructure of tourism projects in Yemen. They emphasized the importance of training and qualifying Yemeni personnel and enhancing the digital transformation of tourism services. These initiatives aim to stimulate sector growth and create job opportunities for the youth.

Rehabilitation of Tourist Facilities is Essential

Minister Dhamaj highlighted the critical need to support the rehabilitation of tourist facilities, particularly in the temporary capital, Aden, Socotra Island, and liberated provinces. He believes that revitalizing these areas will boost tourism activity and attract investments.

Commitment to Strengthening Cooperation

In response, Dr. Bandar Al-Fahid expressed the organization’s readiness to enhance collaboration with the ministry. He assured support for plans to develop and improve tourism facilities in Yemen. Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of leveraging partnerships and agreements with Arab and regional funding institutions to foster tourism investment.

This meeting marks a significant step toward revitalizing Yemen’s tourism sector, which holds great potential for economic growth and job creation.
