The General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology’s Weather Forecast and Early Warning Center announced on Friday that cold and dry weather will continue in the mountainous areas. Nighttime and early morning temperatures may drop significantly, leading to possible frost and fog formation. Satellite imagery and various weather maps confirm these predictions.
According to the daily weather bulletin, which the Yemen News Agency (Saba) received, coastal regions will experience generally mild temperatures. However, areas such as Al-Mahra, Hadhramaut, and eastern Shabwa will feel colder during the night and early morning. The forecast indicates partial cloud cover with a chance of scattered rain in Socotra Archipelago and southern and southwestern coasts. Winds will remain moderate to active.
In desert areas and the interior plateaus, the weather will remain dry and clear. Daytime temperatures will be moderate, while nighttime temperatures may drop to very cold levels. Winds will blow lightly to moderately during this period.
The forecast center provided the expected maximum and minimum temperatures for several provinces on Friday:
The center reiterated its warning to residents in high-altitude areas about low temperatures. Citizens, especially children and the elderly, should take necessary precautions. Additionally, drivers in mountainous regions should remain vigilant due to reduced visibility caused by fog. Farmers in these areas should also be aware of potential impacts on their crops due to frost and extremely low temperatures.
In its daily marine bulletin, the center forecasted that sea conditions along Al-Mahra’s coast will be mild to moderate. Meanwhile, the coasts of Hadhramaut, Shabwa, Abyan, and Aden will experience moderate waves. The Bab al-Mandab and western coasts, along with Socotra Archipelago, may see moderate to rough seas. The center cautioned fishermen and sea-goers along the eastern, southern, and western coasts, as well as around Socotra and in the Arabian Sea and Red Sea, about rough seas and strong winds.
This comprehensive weather update aims to keep the public informed and safe amid changing weather conditions.
