The Meteorological Forecast and Early Warning Center of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology predicts that the weather today, Sunday, will be moderate and clear to partly cloudy in coastal areas and nearby regions. There is a possibility of scattered rain in parts of the eastern and southern coastal areas, as well as the Socotra Archipelago. Winds will range from light to moderate, with stronger gusts expected along the southwestern coasts and Bab al-Mandab.
According to the daily weather bulletin, which the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) received, the mountainous regions will experience partly cloudy weather with moderate temperatures. There is a chance of thunderstorms in various areas of the western and southwestern highlands, extending to parts of Lahij Governorate. Scattered rain, some of which may be thunderous, is also expected in the governorates of Hadramaut, Shabwa, and Abyan. Meanwhile, the desert and plateau areas will generally see dry weather, clear to partly cloudy skies, hot temperatures during the day, and moderate temperatures at night and in the early morning. Winds will be moderate to active, stirring up sand and dust.
The forecast indicates that maximum and minimum temperatures today, Sunday, in coastal areas and nearby regions will be as follows: Aden 33 / 26, Mukalla 30 / 26, Al Hudaydah 35 / 28, Socotra 33 / 26, Al Mukha 37 / 27, Al Ghaydah 32 / 25, Zinjibar 33 / 25, and Lahij 35 / 26. In desert and plateau areas, temperatures will be: Sayun 36 / 21, Marib 35 / 20, Ataq 35 / 20, and Bayhan 34 / 20. In mountainous areas, temperatures will be: Sana’a 27 / 11, Taiz 31 / 16, Dhamar 25 / 09, Al Dhale’e 28 / 17, Ibb 28 / 12, and Al Bayda 27 / 11.
The center urges citizens in areas expecting rain to avoid riverbeds and valleys. They should refrain from staying outdoors during thunderstorms and exercise caution due to strong winds. The center specifically warns vehicle owners about reduced visibility in the southern and western highlands due to fog formation.
In its daily marine bulletin, the Meteorological Forecast and Early Warning Center forecasts that sea conditions along the coasts of Hadramaut, Shabwa, Abyan, Aden, and the Socotra Archipelago will be calm. The coasts of Al Mahrah, Bab al-Mandab, and the western coasts will see light to moderate waves. Additionally, the sea conditions in Yemen’s territorial waters in the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea will be light to moderate, while the Arabian Sea will experience moderate waves.
The center also warns sea-goers and fishermen in the eastern and western coasts, Bab al-Mandab, and Yemen’s territorial waters in the Red Sea about potential sea disturbances and strong winds.
