Director’s Announcement Highlights Progress
Osama Al-Qusaybi, the Director General of the “Masam” mine clearance project in Yemen, announced that teams have successfully removed a total of 507,588 explosive materials since the project’s inception. This achievement is part of ongoing efforts to clear Yemeni land of mines planted by Houthi militias across various provinces.

These figures underscore the scale of the challenge faced by the project and the dedication of the teams involved.
The engineering teams have also succeeded in clearing over 68.6 million square meters of land. This crucial step has enhanced safety in vast areas, facilitating opportunities for agriculture, housing, and development. The project has garnered widespread international praise for its humanitarian efforts.
“Masam,” which operates under the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, continues its intensive activities in conflict-affected regions. This ongoing commitment reflects Saudi Arabia’s dedication to supporting human security and protecting civilians from the dangers posed by mines and explosive devices.
