Emergency teams from the Masam demining project, in collaboration with the Executive Center for Mine Action in Mukalla, successfully destroyed 724 pieces of landmines and explosive remnants of war. This operation forms part of ongoing efforts to clear affected areas and protect civilians from the dangers posed by these hazardous materials.
Details of Destroyed Materials
The destroyed items included:
- 29 plastic anti-personnel mines and guided mines
- 55 60mm mortar shells
- 88 23mm artillery shells
- 12 RPG shells
- 18 hand grenades
- 18 RPG charges
- 486 artillery fuses
- 17 tank shell charges
Previous Operations in Hadhramaut
This operation marks the ninth conducted in Hadhramaut since mid-January. As a result of these efforts, the total number of destroyed items in the province has reached 16,187, including landmines, improvised explosive devices, and unexploded ordnance since January 17. These operations aim to secure the region and enhance public safety.
