Significant Achievements Since 2018

Osama Al-Qusaybi, the director of the “Masam” project, announced that since its launch in June 2018, the initiative has successfully removed 514,193 explosive devices planted by Houthi militias, supported by the Iranian regime, across various Yemeni provinces. This achievement highlights the ongoing efforts to clear Yemen of dangerous remnants of conflict.

Breakdown of Removed Explosives

The removed explosives include a variety of dangerous materials:

  • 351,859 unexploded munitions
  • 8,276 improvised explosive devices (IEDs)
  • 147,202 anti-tank mines
  • 6,856 anti-personnel mines

This extensive removal effort underscores the project’s commitment to ensuring safety in affected areas.

Impact on Civilian Safety and Land Restoration

The “Masam” project has also cleared over 70 million square meters of contaminated land. This significant achievement has played a crucial role in protecting thousands of civilians and restoring life to regions previously threatened by explosive hazards.

Recognition of Humanitarian Efforts

“Masam” stands out as one of the most prominent humanitarian initiatives under the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center. The project continues to tackle direct threats to the lives of Yemenis, receiving international praise for its effective mine clearance and rehabilitation of affected areas.
