The Al-Mahra Office of Industry and Trade launched an extensive field campaign today aimed at monitoring and regulating food prices. This initiative ensures the availability of essential goods and Ramadan supplies while requiring traders to display clear price lists for consumers.
Director Abdullah Khodum emphasized that this campaign is part of ongoing efforts to protect consumers and prevent any manipulation or monopolization of goods. With Ramadan approaching, a significant increase in demand for food items is expected. Khodum noted that field teams conducted visits to markets and shops in Al-Ghaydah and other districts to assess compliance with approved pricing.
Khodum confirmed that legal actions will be taken against violators in accordance with existing laws. He also mentioned that monitoring campaigns will continue in the coming weeks. Furthermore, he urged citizens to report any pricing violations or monopolistic practices. This community engagement will enhance oversight and safeguard consumer rights.
The proactive measures taken by the Al-Mahra Office of Industry and Trade reflect a commitment to fair pricing and consumer protection, especially during the high-demand month of Ramadan. By fostering transparency and accountability, the office aims to create a more equitable marketplace for all residents.
