Local Authority in Taiz Urges Military Personnel to Ignore Houthi Recruitment Attempts

The local authority in Taiz Governorate has called on residents affiliated with the armed forces and security in the Taiz Axis, the National Resistance, and the Homeland Shield, as well as the Tor Al-Baha Axis. These individuals previously served in the western coast districts and the Hajjah region. They are encouraged to contact their leaders for instructions regarding designated centers to reorganize their status and ensure regular salary payments.

Warning Against Houthi Pressure Tactics

Local authorities in the districts of Al-Shamayatayn, Al-Mafer, Al-Mawaset, Jabal Habashi, Al-Masrak, Samah, Al-Salu, Dhobab, Al-Mokha, Mawza, Al-Wazi’ah, and Maqbana have issued warnings about Houthi militia attempts to pressure local leaders and sheikhs. The militias aim to compile lists of military officers and personnel in these districts and collect their data. This effort serves as a precursor to summons and recruitment into the militia ranks.

Call for Resistance to Houthi Recruitment

The local authority has urged all military personnel not to respond to these summons. It has also called on local leaders, sheikhs, and dignitaries to reject these coercive measures and uphold their responsibilities for the safety of their villages and communities.

Recognition of National Loyalty

The authority praised the patriotic stance of officers and personnel who have declined Houthi communications and invitations. These individuals remain committed to their military oath and loyalty to the republican system, emphasizing their duty to protect their families and homes. The authority asserted that those who have attacked Taiz lack the right to summon its residents for combat.

Commitment to Protecting Taiz

The local authority reaffirmed that loyalty to Taiz involves safeguarding its residents and preserving their dignity. It stressed the importance of maintaining the governorate’s legacy in defending the republican system. The authority emphasized that history will remember those who protected the people of Taiz and upheld its social fabric and national interests.
