On June 7, 2026, Interior Minister Major General Ibrahim Haidan commended U.S. Ambassador Stephen Fagin for his efforts to enhance cooperation and coordination between Yemen and the United States. This acknowledgment came during a meeting held to mark the conclusion of the ambassador’s diplomatic tenure in Yemen.

Minister Haidan expressed his best wishes for the ambassador’s future endeavors, highlighting the importance of the bilateral relationship.

In response, Ambassador Fagin praised the Ministry of Interior for its commitment to maintaining security and stability in Yemen. He expressed gratitude for the cooperation and support he received from the ministry, which facilitated his work during his time in the country.

The meeting also included the presence of the Inspector General of the Ministry of Interior, Major General Dr. Faiz Ghalab, and the Security Attaché at the Yemeni Embassy in Riyadh, Major General Abdulqawi Jamil.
