Today, Major General Ibrahim Ali Haidan, Yemen’s Interior Minister, conducted an inspection of the Al-Wadiah Land Port in Hadramout Governorate. During his visit, he listened to a detailed briefing from the port director, Amer Al-Sayari, regarding the services offered to travelers and the ongoing expansion efforts funded by the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen.
The minister also met with Colonel Abdullah Al-Kathiri, the head of passport services at the port. Al-Kathiri provided insights into the daily capacity for travelers arriving at the port and outlined the operational procedures within the border control system. Haidan emphasized the importance of preventing the collection of any illegal fees from travelers and called for legal action against violators. He praised the generous support from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in enhancing the port’s development plans.
Additionally, Minister Haidan oversaw the implementation of a staff rotation plan within the passport administration, in line with Cabinet resolutions (5-6-7) for the year 2024.
The minister chaired a meeting attended by representatives from various security and civil entities operating at the port. He commended the efforts made at Al-Wadiah Port to provide services to citizens. Haidan stressed the need for coordinated efforts among all departments to facilitate procedures for citizens and visitors, highlighting the port’s role as a key gateway to the country.
The visit underscores the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and services at Yemen’s borders, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for all travelers.
