Sana’a, Yemen – Today, Minister of Interior Major General Ibrahim Ali Haidan met with a delegation from the United Nations Special Envoy’s office, led by Senior Military Advisor Mr. Anthony Hayward. The meeting focused on the latest developments in security and efforts to support stability in the liberated provinces of Yemen.
During the meeting, Minister Haidan highlighted the Ministry of Interior’s initiatives to establish security and stability across the region. He emphasized the crucial role of security forces in addressing current challenges. Additionally, he discussed ongoing efforts to enhance maritime security, despite threats posed by terrorist groups. Haidan noted that support from allies and friends has significantly helped overcome numerous difficulties.
Major General Haidan stressed the importance of unifying efforts to confront the real threats to security and stability, particularly from the Houthi terrorist militias. He pointed out that these groups continue to undermine security and obstruct peace processes in Yemen.
Mr. Anthony Hayward reaffirmed the international community’s commitment to achieving security stability in Yemen. He indicated that the United Nations supports efforts to enhance security and build peace in the region.
The meeting also included several key figures from the Ministry of Interior, such as Inspector General Major General Dr. Faiz Ghalab and the Security Attaché at the Yemeni Embassy in Riyadh, Dr. Abdulqawi Jamil. The UN envoy’s office was represented by Ms. Roxana Yelena, Ms. Snezana Vuksa, Dr. Dirk Jan, and Mr. Hadeel Samir.
This meeting underscores the ongoing collaboration between Yemeni authorities and international partners to foster a secure and stable environment in Yemen.
