In the first half of October 2023, the Immigration, Passports, and Nationality Authority reported the issuance of 44,315 passports across its branches in liberated provinces and foreign missions. This surge highlights the authority’s ongoing efforts to streamline passport services and meet the needs of citizens.
According to statistics compiled by the Security Media, which reflects daily reports submitted to the Operations Room of the General Command for Leadership and Control, the distribution of passports varied by issuance source. The data revealed that:
Additionally, the authority’s branch in Hadramout issued 2,076 passports, while Shabwa issued 1,868. The Al-Mahrah branch contributed 681 passports, and the Seiyun branch issued 558 passports.
Minimal Passport Issuance in Remote Areas
The remaining passports issued during this period were relatively few, with the Al-Khawkhah branch issuing 45 passports and the Socotra branch issuing 57 passports. This data indicates that while larger cities see higher demand, remote areas still face challenges in passport accessibility.
This recent update from the Immigration Authority underscores its commitment to providing essential services to citizens, facilitating travel, and enhancing national identity documentation.
