TAIZ, YEMEN – Governor of Taiz and Chairman of the Security Committee, Nabil Shamsan, visited the Taiz Military Command today to assess the current military situation and developments across various fronts in the province. He focused on the combat readiness of the armed forces in response to the ongoing escalation by Houthi militias, which receive support from the Iranian regime.
During a meeting at the military command, Shamsan joined key military figures, including Taiz Military Commander Major General Khalid Fadel, Chief of Staff Major General Abdulaziz Al-Majidi, and Military Advisor Colonel Abdu Farhan. Shamsan emphasized the need to enhance combat readiness and vigilance. He also stressed the importance of coordination among military units to effectively counter the Houthi attempts to reinforce their positions along the front lines.
Shamsan pointed out that the militias aim to execute infiltration operations to gain psychological advantages, despite the Yemeni people’s rejection of their sectarian agenda, which fully aligns with Iranian interests and threatens Yemen’s security and regional stability.
The governor highlighted that the ongoing escalation by the militias, including shelling and sniper attacks on residential areas, has resulted in civilian casualties. He praised the bravery of the army and resistance fighters, who have successfully thwarted the militia’s offensive attempts.
Shamsan noted that the growing popular and tribal rejection of the militias reflects the Yemeni people’s awareness of their destructive agenda and the humanitarian and economic suffering it has caused. He asserted that this national unity serves as a crucial foundation for supporting the armed forces, restoring state institutions, and ending the coup.
During the meeting, the governor listened to updates from the military commander regarding the latest military developments and the combat readiness of the national army’s units. He confirmed that the army is fully prepared to confront any hostile attempts, with all units ready to thwart the militias’ plans and protect the province and its citizens.
Shamsan also clarified that the military command maintains continuous coordination with the Ministry of Defense, the Fourth Military Region, and the General Staff. This collaboration ensures unified efforts, enhances combat readiness, and strengthens operational and logistical support for the fronts, while monitoring the implementation of military plans aimed at countering Houthi militia attacks.
