The governor of Taiz inaugurates the rehabilitation and paving of streets in the Salah district.

Governor Launches Road Rehabilitation and Paving Project in Taiz

Today, Governor Nabil Shamshan of Taiz officially launched a significant project aimed at rehabilitating and paving several streets in the Salh district. This initiative marks the first phase of a broader plan to enhance the infrastructure across various districts in the city.

Details of the Road Improvements

During the launch, the governor announced the rehabilitation and paving of three specific streets, along with associated lighting and drainage works. He emphasized that the city will undergo comprehensive paving and rehabilitation in subsequent phases of the project.

Project Components and Support

According to Aref Al-Yousufi, the director of the Salh district, the initial project focuses on maintaining and rehabilitating asphalt roads with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The project includes the following key components:

  1. Street Maintenance: The rehabilitation will cover two main asphalt roads. The first route extends from Salh Asaj Street to the School of the People roundabout, passing through the Al-Hawd roundabout, with a total length of 779 meters.
  2. Additional Paving: The second road connects the Al-Ardhi roundabout to the fourth checkpoint, measuring 420 meters in length.
  3. Sidewalk Enhancements: The project will also involve constructing curbs, laying down tiles, and painting both the curbs and the central traffic signals.

This road rehabilitation initiative aims to improve the overall infrastructure in Taiz, enhancing mobility and safety for residents. The governor’s commitment to this project reflects a broader strategy to revitalize urban areas and promote sustainable development in the region.
