Governor of Socotra Discusses Higher Education Development with University President

Socotra, Yemen – Today, Governor Raafat Al-Thaqali engaged in a productive discussion with Dr. Mohammed Khambash, President of Hadramout University. The meeting focused on strategies to enhance university education in Socotra.

Enhancing Educational Infrastructure

During the meeting, the officials explored opportunities to develop the College of Education and Humanities, a branch of Hadramout University. They emphasized the importance of improving the college’s infrastructure to accommodate new departments that align with the educational needs of the region. Governor Al-Thaqali reaffirmed the local authority’s commitment to advancing higher education in Socotra.

Support from Saudi Program

Governor Al-Thaqali expressed gratitude for the support from the Saudi program in executing the college building project. He assured that the local government would facilitate any challenges the college faces. The governor highlighted that supporting university and technical education remains a top priority for the local authority.

This meeting marks a significant step towards improving higher education in Socotra. By prioritizing infrastructure development and fostering collaboration with institutions like Hadramout University, local officials aim to meet the evolving educational demands of the community.
