Governor of Hadhramaut Attends Tactical Project "Lightning" for Infantry Company

Today, the Governor of Hadhramaut, Mabkhout bin Madi, attended the tactical project “Lightning,” designed for the first infantry company leaders’ training. This initiative, executed by the Second Military Region’s leadership, took place at the late Ali Al-Haqi School for Combat Training. The event also welcomed the Deputy Chief of Staff, Major General Ahmed Al-Basr.

Greetings from the President

During his speech, Governor Mabkhout conveyed warm greetings from President Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council. He expressed his congratulations to the officers and soldiers of the Second Military Region, praising the leadership for successfully concluding this vital tactical project.

Significance of the Project

Major General Taleb Barjash, the commander of the Second Military Region, emphasized that this project represents a significant advancement. He noted that it effectively combines theoretical knowledge with practical applications in various combat arts. Furthermore, he announced plans to transform the combat school into a training institute by 2025.

Live Ammunition Exercise

As part of the tactical project, participating forces executed a live-fire attack to seize a specific location. This operation utilized live ammunition from artillery, mortars, and 23mm anti-aircraft weapons, among other diverse armaments.

Recognition of Achievements

The event concluded with a ceremony honoring the top performers from the training course and outstanding leaders of the infantry companies who excelled in the project.

Visit to Military Engineering Division

In a related activity, Governor Mabkhout visited the Military Engineering Division of the Second Military Region. He aimed to gain firsthand insight into the division’s activities and initiatives.

Mine Clearance Efforts

During the visit, the governor learned about the division’s efforts in mine clearance. Colonel Saleh Mahdar, head of the division, highlighted their significant role in raising awareness about the dangers of mines and conducting training courses to enhance the skills of their personnel.

This visit and the tactical project underscore the commitment of Hadhramaut’s military leadership to enhance combat readiness and ensure the safety of the region.
