The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), His Excellency Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, reaffirmed the GCC’s commitment to supporting all efforts aimed at achieving unity, sovereignty, and security in Syria. This statement came during a recent phone call with the United Nations Special Envoy for Syria, Geir Pedersen.
During the call, Al-Budaiwi and Pedersen discussed various regional and international initiatives focused on promoting Syria’s unity and sovereignty. They also reviewed the latest developments in the region and explored ways to enhance cooperation between the GCC and the United Nations.
Al-Budaiwi emphasized that the GCC stands firmly behind all efforts that foster stability, prosperity, and security for the Syrian people. He highlighted the critical need for the international community to unite in supporting comprehensive solutions to the Syrian crisis. Such solutions must respect Syria’s sovereignty and contribute to building a better future for the country and its citizens.
